EVALUATION OF IMMUNOPHYSIOLOGICAL AND BEHAVIORAL ADAPTATIONS, BODY COMPOSITION AND PHYSICAL CAPACITY OF HEALTHY INDIVIDUALS AND/OR INDIVIDUALS WITH CHRONIC DISEASES SUBMITTED TO VARIOUS INTERVENTIONS

Project Coordinator: Prof. Dr. Eduardo Vignoto Fernandes

Project Participants: Professors David Michel de Oliveira and Raphaella Meireles Barbosa Bartoli and students of the program

Currently, research on the prevention and/or treatment of chronic diseases has gained prominence. This is because the incidence of people falling ill for various reasons has grown substantially. In addition to chronic non-communicable diseases, such as diabetes, hypertension, obesity and cancer; the number of people affected by chronic communicable diseases, such as HIV, has also increased. Thus, knowing the profile of individuals, as well as the associated diseases, is essential to propose alternatives for the prevention and treatment of these people. Thus, this project seeks to propose intervention measures such as, for example, physical exercise models, changes in eating habits, application of phototherapy and manual manipulation, as well as to evaluate the effects of supplements and medications both for improving performance and health. The measurement instruments are biological analyses (e.g., blood and saliva), physical tests, anthropometric assessment and body composition, as well as the application of questionnaires on health conditions and habits. The objective is to propose diverse possibilities for the prevention and treatment of pathologies that may affect individuals.
