ABSTRACT

Tissue repair is dynamic, including different stages, including inflammation, cell proliferation and synthesis of elements. Recently, the possibility of accel.erating this process with the use of low-power laser has been discovered, with prominence, as researchers have found promising results as an effect anti-inflammatory and analgesic, in addition to being a non-invasive, safe and low-maintenance therapeutic method. Ninety Wistar rats were used, randomly assigned to 6 groups. Control group (CG, n = 15), decreasing doses group (G5JD, n = 15), increasing doses group (G1JC, n = 15) and groups with fixed doses (G5J; G2J; G1J; n = 15 animals group). An incision was made longitudinally (3 cm) in the skin of the median part of the dorsum, then the edges of the wound were sutured, with four simple stitches, using 4-0 monofilament nylon thread. The G5JD group received decreasing irradiations according to the day (D0, D1, D2, D3, 5J / cm²; D4, D5, D6, D7, 2J / cm²; D8, D9, D10, D11, 1J / cm²), the G1JC group received irradiation treatment in increasing doses according to the day (D0, D1, D2, D3, 1J / cm²; D4, D5, D6, D7, 2 J / cm²; D8, D9, D10, D11, 5 J / cm²) and the G5J groups; G2J and G1J received irradiations with fixed doses during the 11 days (G5J; 5J / cm²; G2J, 2J / cm² and G1J, 1J / cm²). The objective of this work is to evaluate the effects of using low power laser (LBP) with variable doses and fixed doses in surgical wounds. Macroscopic and histological analyzes were performed using HE and Massom staining techniques. Macroscopically, greater hair growth can be observed in animals from G5J and G5JD, microscopically groups with greater energy deposition in the early days showed a better inflammatory response, greater deposition of fibroblasts and collagen. Leading to the conclusion that initial doses of 5J are better in tissue repair of surgical wounds.
