REIDRATED MILHO SILAGEM FOR CONFINED CATTLE: PERFORMANCE, DIGESTIBILITY AND CHARACTERISTICS OF CARCAÇA

Coordinator: Marcia Dias

The first experiment will evaluate consumption, digestibility, parameters and ruminal kinetics and nitrogen balance. Five confined and fistulated steers will be used without rumen in a 5x5 Latin square considering five levels of rehydrated millet silagem (0-SGR0, 25-SGR25, 50-SGR50, 75-SGR75 and 100%-SGR100) in substitution of millet stew in concentrated. The diets will be composed of 60% bulk (Mombaça capim silagem) and 40% concentrate, provided ad libitum twice a day (7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.). The analysis of two dice will be carried out at 5% probability in a 5x5 Latin square, in a mixed model, considering the effect of two errors in the animal as random. The effect of two levels of substitution of the rehydrated millet silagem will be analyzed by analysis of variance and with comparison of means using the Tukey test. The effect of the diets on the pH and N-NH3 will be carried out considering this effect on the subplot and the treatments on the plot. The second will be evaluated animal performance, characteristics and nutritional composition of the carcass, nutritional quality of the meat, or economic return of confined bovines fed without the addition of rehydrated grain silages (SGR0) and with 100% replacement (SGR100). 12 adult cattle, not castrated, will be used, distributed in two concentrates (SGR0 and SGR100) in approximately 84 days, considering time for finishing the carcass and weight for slaughter. The analyzes of two dice will be carried out at 5% probability in an entirely random line with six repetitions. For the purpose of adding rehydrated grain silages to animal performance and behavioral characteristics; characteristics and nutritional composition of the carcass; nutritional quality.
