ABSTRACT
The objective of the study was to compare two protocols for analgesic infusions. Twelve female dogs, 3 to 12 years old, underwent radical unilateral mastectomy. Being the blind study, they were allocated in two groups (n = 6), in a randomized fashion. Where bolus followed by infusions of Lidocaine, 1mg / kg (50μg / kg / min) and Ketamine, 1mg / kg, (10μg / kg / min) associated with Fentanyl, 5μg / kg, (0.1 μg / kg / min) (FLK), or methadone, 0.5 mg / kg (4 μg / kg / min) (MeLK) and monitored vital parameters and the need for analgesic complementation. Dipyrone (25mg / kg, IM) and meloxicam (0.2mg / kg, SC) were applied in the immediate postoperative period. The postoperative evaluation was performed for 12 hours, with the aid of pain and sedation scales. Statistical analyzes were performed with the Shapiro-Wilk test, for evaluation of normality, the parametric data with T test and ONE WAY-RM ANOVA, for evaluation between groups; the Dunnet test, for evaluation between times; non-parametric data, Wilcoxon test, time between, and the Mann Withney Rank Sun Test between groups, significance of 5%. In the trans-operative period, there was no need for analgesic complementation in any group. In the postoperative period, both groups required complementary analgesia, but the FLK group had a higher requirement of analgesic complementation, especially in the initial moments. Demonstrating satisfactory immediate postoperative analgesia, promoted by MeLK.
