Animal Nutrition, Production and Reproduction

This research line proposes to develop studies in the animal nutrition and reproduction areas that enhance the productive and economic efficiency in the use of biotic and abiotic resources in animal production systems, based on the principle of environmental sustainability, improvement of hygiene and welfare of the animals. concomitantly obtaining quality animal products. This line will develop studies to determine the quality and efficiency of use of foods such as agroindustrial co-products, determine nutritional requirements as well as additional properties of essential and nonessential nutrients, as well as the development of new products and analytical methods for the exploration of bioactive compounds present in agro-industrial waste and in plants found in the cerrado biome. Studies will also be conducted on animal reproduction biotechniques, fertility assessment methods and research on factors and solutions that affect animal reproductive efficiency.

The student enrolled in this line will be able to choose, accodring to its interest and consent of the advisor, the optional subjects that best suit their formation and qualification. The offer of optional subjects will be characterized by flexibility, providing the student with possibilities to compose their syllabus, in agreement with the advisor teacher and the need for further research.
